About Us
QP Sports or Quality Performers Limited is a New Zealand company based in New Plymouth, in New Zealand's North Island. We have exported our quality Chest Guards to the world since 1981, and have been a major influence in female chest protection for a wide variety of sports.
Our New Zealand manufacturing and development facility uses state of the art equipment and allows us to develop and test new products and features.
We have won exporting and business awards for our work, and also gained many supporters around the world for our products.
Our mission is to make the best Chest Guards for men and women. We are always interested in feedback on our products, so please contact us.

History
Quality Performers started life in 1980 after a local Soccer team requested a Chest Guard be made for them. Although Chest Guard exports started in 1981 sales were minor until 1990 when Martial Arts, then Fencing companies around the world "discovered" first EconoGuard, then later the newer MaxiGuard and CoolGuard products. More recently many sports have discovered the advantages of Chest Protection.

For over 20 years, Quality Performers has been owned by Max Rutherford, who has led the company and developed the products into what they are today.
Quality Performers is now owned by Richard Shearer and Rebecca Scott, while Max continues as General Manager and consultant.
Chest Protection Benefits
There are many benefits to using Chest Guards. In some sports such as Fencing, Martial Arts and Boxing, Chest Guards are actually required to be worn by sports authorities to prevent injuries to the chest.
