Our original Chest Guard

Now used around the world especially in Fencing competition and training. Econo Guard is made from light but strong Polyethylene.

Many Fencing schools and studios insist Econo Guard is worn by all female fencers, and Econo Guard is approved for competition use.

Econo Guard is worn over your regular or sports bra, or a tee shirt. A uniform can then be worn over the Econo Guard if required.

Chest Protectors at World Cup competitions:
The Executive Committee of the FIE has issued a ruling regarding the use of chest protectors for Foil for World Cup and World Championship competition:
" The use of breast/chest protectors (made of metal or some rigid material) is compulsory for women and optional for men. In foil, this breast/chest protector must be worn below the protective plastron "

The Executive Committee of the USFA has issued a ruling regarding the use of chest protectors for Foil for USFA competition:
"Breast protectors/chest protection : The use of breast protectors/chest protection in Foil is authorized for Men and Women providing that they are worn under the fencing jacket. Urgent decision. Immediate application."

Reduce risks in your chosen sport: Breasts, ribs and sternum are all covered with this flexible but strong polyethylene guard. Virtually unbreakable, it is held firmly in place with adjustable elastic straps.

When competing in Fencing, Karate, Boxing, Hockey, Tae Kwondo, Cricket etc. In fact any sport where contact with another competitor or bat/ball is possible. No heavy padding needed with Econo Guard as the protector is a neat and 'correct' fit on the body.

Correct fit of the Econo Guard.

We recommend a bra or vest be worn under the Econo Guard.

To select correct guard size, refer to the sizing chart. Measure chest size under bust. Cup size should be the same as your standard bra. If you wear a heavy padded sports type bra underneath, you may need the next larger cup size in the Econo Guard.

We recommend the bra or vest be of the synthetic textile type to allow moisture to move and evaporate which is natures own body cooling method. Final shaping of the guard can be necessary to obtain the best fit under the arms. The instruction book explains the method. Details here--shape correction

Finally--Beware of copies of our Econo Guard. Are they safe? Are they CE certified? How heavy are they? Watch for sharp edges, recycled (brittle) plastic and low quality elastic.
